Lisa Agosti started her training as a fine artist at 15 years of age. As an apprentice under artist Joseph Mack at the Huntington School of Fine Arts, she received formal art training in painting, drawing and sculpture. This classical training forms the basis for her work. She continued her art education at New York University in Manhattan, where she earned her BFA in Art and Aesthetics from the Gallatin School of Individualized study. Her work at NYU included a thesis exploring Arthood and Aesthetics; she graduated cum laude in 1999.
Following graduation from NYU, Lisa was invited to teach painting at the Huntington School of Fine Arts. She managed oil painting classes for teens in the Portfolio Preparation Program. While residing in St. Petersburg, Florida, she worked as a teaching artist with Youth Arts Corps, a non-profit organization that serves under-privileged youth, VSA Arts, which brings art to people with disabilities, and the Tampa Museum of Art through the ArtSpace program.
HONORS AND AWARDS
Now based in Huntington, New York, she continues working as a fine artist and muralist. She has been honored with awards from The Senate, The House of Representatives, State Assembly, County Legislature and local representatives for her mural honoring US veterans of war. She was recently deemed a “Master Muralist”. Please view the Awards and Accreditations page on this website for more information.
Lisa has a vast experience in the arts. Working both individually and as part of a team, she has been involved in projects that vary greatly in their scope and focus: children’s hospitals, libraries, private homes, businesses, showrooms and schools. She has used her creative knowledge to complete projects that are sophisticated and traditional as well as those which warrant a more lighthearted approach. With each creative challenge, she has invented a unique creative solution to the project.
